S. Merkel is attending the 4th Onsen Workshop on Formation and Chemical Composition of Cores which is held 7-10 October 2025 in a remote traditional Japanese hotel Honke Bankyu in Yunishigawa, near Nikko in Japan.

The workshop is attended by approximately 50 people from around the world to discuss issues such as planetary cores formation scenarios, their compositions, structures, and physical properties.
