Présentation and dynamic compression display at the Forum des Hautes Pressions
June 2026. Presentation Iron and Iron alloys and outreach display on laser-driven compression at the French High Pressure Workshop
The High-Pressure Technology Forum brings together French users of pressure-based technologies across a range of disciplines, from physics to the food industry, including chemistry, materials science, Earth and space sciences, and biology. The community meets once every two years for a 5 days forum target to researchers, students, and technological staff of French research institutions.
This year's session on 15 to 19 June 2026 coincided with the 30th anniversary of the high-pressure technology network and provided an opportunity for the high-pressure community to take a look back on past challenges that were addressed, highlight the current technological bottlenecks facing the high-pressure community, and to collectively look ahead to the challenges of the coming decade.
In this context, HotCore members participated in three ways
- Julien Chantel was part of the scientific and organisation comittee,
- Hélène Ginestet presented her latest results on iron and iron alloys under extreme conditions,
- Hélène Ginestet teamed up with ANR Min-Dixi members Lélia Libon and Amrita Chakraborti to prepare an outreach tutorial on sample preparations and concepts for experiments with laser-driven shock compression.
Busy week for all!
